Shavuot

This holiday celebrates the Giving of the Torah.

In modern Israel, Shavuot also celebrates the spring harvest and it is often referred to as the Holiday of First Fruits. Shavuot comes seven weeks after Pesach. Fruit baskets are particularly favored as gifts during this holiday. It is customary to eat dairy meals.
