Meet the international schools in Italy

Boot Land is not only beautiful and culinary, it also offers excellent opportunities for higher education and employment. Therefore, the number of Israelis traveling there increases from year to year.

If it is mobility that are parents, another task is added to the transitional organizations – finding educational institutions for children. When it comes to a country where the official language is not English, there is a certain preference for international schools, which offer English language studies.

A little about the Italian education system

The Italian education system is offered for free to all children living in the country, no matter their nationality. Education is mandatory from the age of 6 to 16.

The Italian education system, as in most parts of the world, is divided into three:

1. Garden – scuola dell’infanzia.

2. Elementary school (first cycle) – scuola primaria and scuola secundario di primo grado.

3. High school (second cycle) – istituto tecnico/professionale, or istruzione e formazione professionale

After the first cycle, all students pass entrance exams to enter the type of high school that suits them (technical, professional, educational). In high school they learn language (English, Italian, etc.), religion, history, geography, science, mathematics, technology, art, music and physics.

Each high school is divided into fields: scientific (liceo scientifico), classical (liceo classico), languages (liceo linguistico), teaching (istituto magistrale), technical (istituto tecnico) and professional (istituto professionale). Once they graduate from high school, all students are eligible to attend university.

International schools in Italy

In addition to public schools, there are private educational institutions that offer English curriculums, according to American or British standards.

An international school can be a great solution for mobile children, ambassadors’ children, children of immigrants, and so on. Beyond the fact that they are full of multiculturalism, including local students, they meet the strict standards of both the local educational system, as well as the American, British and sometimes French. Which makes it easier to transition globally at the education level.

The registration process varies between an institution and an institution, but in all of them the number of places is limited and therefore it is better and advisable to register as long as possible in advance. Keep in mind that there are places reserved for people of a certain nationality. Check this when you arrive to register, you may win a place intended for Israelis.

Tuition tends to be high, but in return high standards are offered as well: small classrooms, high-level facilities, content beyond school hours and more.
