Carpet Care
During tenancy, the care and cleaning of carpets, parquet and tiled flooring are your responsibility.
Carpets: Stained or non-repairable carpet damage will require full carpet replacement as patchwork in a single area or room is unacceptable. Avoid burning the carpet by refraining from ironing on the carpet, placing hair straighteners or tongs on any surface, when hot.
Tips for spills: Immediately soak up any liquid with a dry cloth; pat dry with an absorbent cloth/paper towel. Add a little cold water to the stain and sponge off gently (hot water can damage the fiber and set the stain). Stains left over time can cause permanent damage. Detergents, self-cleaners, unless authorized by the carpet manufacturer, may discolor or bleach the carpet. Use of such products is at your own risk.

Parquet flooring: Begin by vacuuming or sweeping the floor to remove loose dirt and debris. Move any furniture, like tables and chairs, which could get in the way of cleaning. Using a damp mop, with diluted commercial cleaners specifically designed for parquet floor; gently wipe the floor clean.
Tile flooring: Begin by vacuuming or sweeping the floor to remove loose dirt and debris, move any furniture, including tables and chairs, which may be in the the way. Prepare a solution using one of the commercial cleaners in a bucket of water. Immerse the wet mop or wet rag in the bucket, then attach the rag to the squeegee, and spread the solution generously on the tiled floor. Absorb any excess water and dry the floors with a dry cloth. Whether you use water or water mixed with detergent, run a dry mop/squeegee over the floor when you are finished mopping. This will prevent new dirt from accumulating and staining the grout.
